Washington ACTE - 2023 Policy Priorities

WA-ACTE Legislative Vision – To maximize the ability for CTE to support the future of work and our state’s economy by providing access to quality CTE programs while building out the current CTE Graduation Pathway.

Class Size Funding - Work within proposed legislation to change the class size-teacher ratio back to 19 students from 23 students (current) and from 20 (current) to 16 for Skill Centers.

Capital Equipment Grants - Secure capital budget grant funding ($25 million) for new and restarting CTE programs for individual schools.

CTSO Participation Funding - Work to secure funding for student participation in their Career and Technical Student Organization.

Principal CertificationAdvocate for CTE information provided within administrator and/or principal certification programs statewide.
